During yesterdays Craft and Chat session, I demonstrated a Corner Flip fancy fold card. I got the inspiration for this card from a video by Rachel Tessman.
This card uses the discontinued Berry Blessings stampset and Berry Delightful DSP
For those who were not with us, and those who didn’t get their card finished, here are the instructions;
You will need:-
Standard A5 card base
Dsp 10×14.4cm x2 (one for outside, one for inside)
Paper trimmer
Stampset and sentiment to decorate
Additional card for layer if desired
Scrap of paper 7.5×7.5cm or post it note 3″ square will do the same job
Pencil, ruler, eraser
Cover the front of your card base with DSP, taking care to not leave any parts unstuck, as when you cut through you don’t want any loose edges.
Take the scrap paper/post it note and measure 1cm from the top left corner down the left side and make a mark.
Do the same from the bottom right corner along the bottom
This should be a 7.5cm square!!
Lay this paper onto the top right of your card, lining up the top and right sides
Transfer the lines onto your card, but include around the bottom left corner too
These lines will be on your DSP not on the blank card as shown
Carefully line up the lines on the cutting guide of your paper trimmer and cut along between the marks
Take care not to cut right to the edges!
Very gently bend the top right corner of the card forward, pivoting on the 1cm edge pieces, until it reaches the front of the card and is square to the rest of the card. Once happy crease these edges so that it lays flat
Gently manipulate the fold
The top of your card should look like this!
And when stamped and layered and an insert added to the inside, should look like this !
A couple of weeks ago, a lovely lady called Zoe (Tantalizing Stampers) demonstrated to an online group of crafters, a fabulous folder to put your homemade cards in, which we all agreed would make a nice gift, particularly when people are not getting out as much.
So following her tutorial, I decided to use up some retired DSP (designer series papers), and make a fully co-ordinating set for a friend.
This is what I made;
I made it along with my online crafters this week in our weekly Craft and Chat, and it was lovely to see what you can make to use up all that paper you’ve been hoarding!
Here’s the instructions
To make the folder to put your cards in, you will need;
A4 sheet of card
Co ordinating papers measuring 12.6 x 15.5cm – 2 pieces for inside, 2 pieces for outside
co ordinating paper 1.6×15.5cm for spine (use 2 pieces if you want to cover both inside and outside spine)
Layer 9.0cm x 13.5cm
Card to stamp on 8.5 x 13cm
Ribbon
Score the card on the long edge at 3.5 and 4.5cm.
Rotate and score 13.8cm from EACH end
With the card landscape and the score lines at the bottom, cut up on either side of the vertical score lines and remove the complete central tab (all the way up to the 2nd score line).
Next measure from each of the bottom corners and mark at 3cm. Make a line from this point to the first score line and remove these corner pieces. It should end up looking like this;
Then its just a case of decorating with your pretty papers.
The first one of these that I made, I punched a hole to thread my ribbon through, but this time I wrapped ribbon all the way around before sticking my patterned papers on the outside and feel I got a much neater finish.
And lastly, I made 6 matching cards to place inside.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this little project and it encourages you to use some of that huge pile of papers up.

Yes…it says Christmas card! This is the first one I’ve made this year, so think I can be excused!
I’ve done a couple of Facebook Lives using the Circle Celebration stamp set, and I’ve had the large stamp keep jumping out at me saying ‘moon’, so I thought I’d have a play and see what I could do.
I used a Seaside Spray card layer to stamp some trees from the ‘Rooted in Nature’ stamp set in memento black ink on the base of the card.
Then using one of the fabulous new blending brushes (Jan to June catalogue), I first used Misty Moonlight and then Night of Navy ink pads to give a little depth around the edges.
On a separate piece of white card I used Mango Melody, Flirty Flamingo and Highland Heather on the ‘moon’ stamp, carefully sweeping the ink pad across ensuring I used the lightest colour first so as not to contaminate my ink pads. When i had all three colours on the stamp, I gave it a quick ‘huff’ to ensure the ink was still wet and stamped onto my white card. I then die cut it with 4th from smallest layering circle die. This die is slightly smaller than the stamped image, but worked perfectly as I didn’t want a white border around my ‘moon’.
I then stamped the spotty stamp from the Dressed to Impress stamp set with Versamark ink, applied white embossing powder and heat set to give a snowy look. The sentiment was from Itty Bitty Christmas. The sentiment and moon where adhered on Dimensionals.
To finish, I used the Stampin’ Chalk Marker around the edges of the trees and also popped a little Wink of Stella to make them glisten.
Hope you’ve enjoyed learning how I made this card. Keep checking in for more.
In the meantime….keep Stamping!!
